Party for Profits!

The key to a thriving party plan business is sales. Where do the sales come from? Parties! So, it would stand to reason that the more successful your hostess is at filling up a room, the more rewards she will earn (FREE jewelry!) and the more sales you will generate. It’s a win-win scenario.

Sometimes, it’s hard for a hostess to come up with a list of who to invite to the party. So, here’s a fun and easy way to make a game out of it. Provide your hostess with a list on which you have “categories” of types of people. Offer the hostess an incentive (chosen by you) for getting a certain number (say 10) off the list.

Here’s some that I’ve used:

A “NATURAL” Blonde, a teacher, a grandmother, someone on a diet, a new neighbor, someone with all boys, someone with all girls, a size 8 woman’s shoe size, someone who owns her own business, someone you’ve hosted a party for, a former neighbor, someone with naturally curly hair, a pregnant woman, an in-law, a future hostess/booking, a mother of a toddler, a newlywed, someone who LOVES jewelry, someone with no children, someone with grown children, someone who will bring a guest to your party, someone who recently went on vacation.

You are limited only by your imagination! As an ADDED twist, why not pick a theme for your party? It really adds a personal touch to your parties and will make certain guests remember how much FUN they had. This is critical for future bookings and repeat sales.

phoneWorried that your hostess has the “50 lb phone syndrome”? No problem! Here’s a simple script for your hostess to follow:

“Judy, it’s Jane. Got a quick minute?” (Wait for her to respond YES, as you don’t want her rushing and make a snap decision.)
“Great! I’m having a “Girls Night In” at my house on Friday for my friend Jill. She’s bringing the latest Sydney Andrews Jewelry and I’m so excited to see their newest additions. You were first on my list to call and it would mean so much if you could be here at 6:30p.m. Can I count you in?”

Done! Follow up each phone call with an evite (for guests that prefer email) and/or hand-written invites to solidify the date on their calendars. Call each guest the day before with a reminder of your event and enjoy your fabulous event!
