I love it when consultants come up with creative ideas as to how to get their product out there and get bookings for their parties. Being able to step outside the box can help you stand out above the rest. The following are examples of what some of the Sydney Andrews consultants have done to go the extra mile!

1. Tracy P. who happens to be a wonderful photographer as well as being a Sydney Andrews consultant has utilized her skills by photographing herself with each necklace and earring set. Every day I see a new posting on Facebook of her modeling the “jewelry of the day” She posts them at different times and different days of the week to capture various audiences. She also posts recommendations and advice of what to wear with the jewelry and to what sort of occasion. I love this because it’s visual and interactive!

2. Missy P. is a brand new consultant. She’s a teacher and asked her fellow co-workers at the school to “model” the jewelry. This allowed her to have a preview to her grand opening party. The jewelry always looks best in person and what better way to get her friends and co-workers excited and curious the product. Missy’s first party was over $1,000.00!

3. Diane K. has had success with asking for referrals. When discussing the jewelry she may not make an immediate sale but she asks her new contact if they might know someone else who would interested in the jewelry or hosting a party. Referrals are usually great leads because the person really wants to give a recommendation and be helpful. Diane also asks it they would take her card and pass them around to which the person is more than happy to help out.

I’d love to hear some of your creative ideas to get bookings.

As you begin your Sydney Andrews home-based business, it’s important to learn all you can about maximizing your home parties and other selling opportunities. Most of us have heard it said that “when you’re telling, your aren’t selling”. The key is to listen to your customers, hostesses and business prospects. That is the way you can learn about their wants, needs and desires. At your parties, match a benefit to their need and you are practically there.

When you are learning how to promote your direct selling and hostess opportunities with a prospect via telephone you will find that there are actually two reasons to encourage the other person to share their feelings, hopes and dreams with you. One is for the reason stated above. The second, is that a prospect doesn’t usually end a conversation…while THEY are talking about something important to them!

Bring that thought into any direct selling process, whether on the telephone or in person. Make it a goal that, whether you are simply establishing a realtionship with a prospect, or actually giving a party presentation that will hopefully result in a sale, that you talk only 25 percent of the time and listen 75 percent of the time. And, the way to accomplish this is to ask questions. Ask questions that the prospect wants to answer, allowing her to engage in the conversation and and this will help her toward the decision of joining in your Sydney Andrews business, or selecting the perfect piece of jewelry to enhance her wardrobe.

Remember what the great sales master, J. Douglas Edwards used to say “Questions are the answer”. How are you doing, percentage-wise in terms of listening versus talking?

One of the greatest things about being involved in direct sales, is the people that you get to meet. Not only can your friends become your customers but they can also become your business partners. That was exactly what occurred between Jill Pfefer, the Sydney Andrews Founder, and Leslie Gipson, one of the founding representatives for Sydney Andrews. Read her interview below about her journey into the jewelry business.

How did you get involved with Sydney Andrews? Jill and I met at one of our sons’ baseball games. I have 2 children, Garrett age 9 and Kendra age 7. Because she is a neighbor and good friend, I knew she designed jewelry. She called me one day, back in October, and told me about her new jewelry line Sydney Andrews. She wondered if I might be interested in becoming one of her first sales reps in Colorado. I jumped at the opportunity!

Why did Sydney Andrews appeal to you? I have always liked “unique” things. This jewelry is just that. Each and every time I wear a piece of her collection someone stops me and comments on my jewelry. It is fun, affordable and you can wear it with just about anything. Dress it up or wear it with jeans and a t-shirt.

What one quality do you think is a “must-have” for someone who wants to build this business? One important quality for someone to have is enthusiasm. You must be excited about your product and enjoy wearing it.

What one thing or person has been very instrumental in your success? One thing that has been very instrumental in my success is my ability to grow and maintain my contacts within my community. Being involved in our children’s school, activities, church groups etc has allowed me to share this jewelry and grow my own business through networking.

What do you like BEST about being a part of this company? Working for Sydney Andrews gives me the opportunity to share and sell very nice, unique pieces of jewelry.

What advice would you give to a new mom-entrepreneur who wants to join Sydney Andrews? One piece of advice I would give to a new mom-entrepreneur is to have fun and enjoy the freedom and independence Sydney Andrews allows you to have as you build your business.
